Nooky Gossip 34! Spring Into Action! Fusion Mineral Paint Pressed Fern! Fusion Glazes! Outdoor Decor Paint Inspo! In The Spotlight - Less Is More!
Springing into Action!
Spring is just around the corner and as the social distancing measures become increasingly more relaxed we will finally be able to have friends and family round for garden parties again!! It's time to pimp up your garden or outdoor space ready to entertain visitors or to just relax in the sun.

Tarting up your tables and blinging up benches with a lick of paint is great way to inject some colour and new lease of life into your old garden furniture. Chalk, Mineral and Milk paints are all fab to use for outdoor projects. With their built in top coats Dixie Belle's Silk All-In-One-Mineral Paint and Fusion's Mineral Paint don't even require a top coat! You can paint wood, metal or plastic surfaces. If things are looking a bit tatty and old paint is peeling off, give them a good jet wash first to get the worst of it off then clean and prep as usual and get painting! Here are few upcycled outdoor pieces that caught our eye -
You would never know from looking at it but this gorgeous pale green chair started as a dull red plastic chair - and it has been transformed with Fusion Mineral Paint in Inglenook. The basket plants were a plain wicker and brought up to date with a coat of Pebble. The bench was brightened up with Dixie Belle's Chalk Paint in Mint Julep and sealed with Gator Hide.
Both Adirondack chairs have been painted with Fusion Milk Paint - this paint absorbs into the wood so is fab for using on outdoor wooden furniture! Apply Hemp Oil to seal. The outdoor chest has been decorated with a mandala stencil using Fusion Mineral Paint in Azure, Inglenook and Raw Silk. It was finished with Stain & Finishing Oil in Golden Pine - it looks like lovely!

Sometimes, Less is More!
Facebook Group member Trisha Fé Casanova is In The Spotlight this week with this gorgeous vintage French chest that she updated by painting the drawers with Pressed Fern from Fusion Mineral Paint and leaving the body in its natural state. She added a little Black Wax from Dixie Belle Paint Company to the detailing and went for a slight distressed finish to tie in with the vintage feel of the piece.

Trisha’s top tip is that it isn’t always necessary to paint an entire piece to get an impactful look. Her original plan was to paint the whole piece with the Pressed Fern but after doing the drawers first, her partner suggested she leave it as it was. Trisha agreed and, as much as she doesn’t like to admit he was right, she is glad she listened to his suggestion! We agree too, Trisha - it looks simply stunning!
